Sweet Tooth Friendly

This review is for the second novel in the Weddings By Design series by Janice Thompson.

*The Icing on the Cake*

I was superbly excited to get the second book in this series. I have read many many novels by Janice and have been superbly thrilled with her writing. She has a way of blending so many different types of characters into a melting pot of personalities and walks of life. While still leaving you feeling like they are all connected somehow no matter the background. I always eagerly turn that first fresh page and prepare to dip my toes into the pool of wonderment Janice creates.

Grab a steaming cup of coffee, tea or cocoa, whichever your heart prefers ;) and join me on this delicious journey.

My only complaint, Ms. Thompson, is the fact that your writing is so descriptive I could almost smell the baked goods and it made me hungry more than once while reading this newest novel!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scarlet Lindsey works hard for her living but it isn't a hardship in any way. She gets to do what she loves and she always smells good. Her Aunt Willy (who is a book all unto herself I think) has financed her long held dream of opening her own bakery and she is determined that backing will not be in vain. Aunt Willy means well even though she can have a double edged sword as a tongue when speaking to Scarlet.
Besides that fact, things are looking pretty good as far as Scarlet is concerned. Single she might be (and not necessarily loving it) but her bakery now resides in a primo spot on Galveston's most popular street and has the famous Rossi Pizzeria as it's nearest neighbor. She has a wonderful personal and working relationship with famed wedding planner, Bella Neeley and business is booming for them both! There is a bit of a mess, not of the baking kind, however, when Bella's very handsome brother, Armando appears in Scarlet's life. Should she risk everything to follow her heart or stick to the old tried and true? Learning to step out in faith might be Scarlet's greatest lesson to date.
What more can I say about this awesome series besides go on and read it for yourself! I commend your exceptional talent with words, Ms. Thompson!
Weddings By Design
This is a review for the novel "Picture Perfect" by Janice Thompson.
It is the first book in the series by Janice, Weddings by Design.
I have loved all of Janice's books so far that I have read especially the ones with Bella Neeley in them!
I was super excited to see that she had a new series coming out and one that indeed included our favorite Bella!
This book was definitely not a source of disappointment at all and I loved how she weaved a new beloved character into the story while seamlessly adding Bella and her lovable and gigantic Italian family into the story!
This book had just about everything you could want from an old nemesis to a new love.
We follow Hannah McDermott along as she tries to find her feet running an ever successful photography business out of her own studio. While she may look like she has it all figured out, in Hannah's mind she has nothing figured. She is the last remaining unmarried daughter left in her parents house, seemingly clumsy at times and a handsome fellow photography who she sees as her fiercest competition. Throw in a crazy celebrity wedding, a beyond demanding publicist and a girl who just needs to find her joy in life again and you have Hannah. If she can just learn to let go and let God she just might find things she never knew she was looking for with people she might have otherwise considered one huge threat to her very way of life.
Sometimes letting go and learning to not doubt yourself all of the time is the best way to get ahead.
I really enjoyed this book overall and am eager to read the next one in this series!! Keep them coming, Janice!
Hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did!
Jenny
New Blog Tour!
I have a treat for you guys! Not one blog tour post but a two in one book review!
The first title is " Queen of the Wave" by Janice Thompson.
This is an American Tapestry book put out by Summerside Press.
First off I love the dress on the girl on this cover, it's so cute!
This book takes you back to the era of the infamous Titanic voyage. My sister is obsessed with all things Titanic so I will be passing this book on to her to read too.
Janice has a very descriptive writing style which compels you to really dive into this story.
~~~~~~~~~~
Pampered doesn't even begin to subscribe Jacqueline Abington and once she decides a marriage to the family gardener then that is exactly what she is going to do and nothing will stop her plan.

Even if that means bribing a poor women to take her place on the maiden Titanic Voyage.

Tessa, the one being convinced to take the voyage feels like she has been handed the greatest opportunity but isn't sure how she feels about assuming another persons identity.

She feels like she is living in a dream as she experiences what it is like to be a spoiled socialite for the first time in her life and is starting to enjoy her time when a wealthy American man takes more than a passing interest in her.

Can she keep up the ruse or will her lies destroy her hope for the future?

You guys ready for round two of this book review??

The second title is "Where the Trail Ends" by Melanie Dobson.

It is also  An American Tapestry novel and Summerside publishes this one too.

This title takes us back to the time of the Oregon Trail back in 1842.

Two very different journeys but both so important in our history and I love how descriptive both authors are.

It is really fun to get to dive into this period in history and almost feel like you get to experience it too even though we were all born well past this time.

This book will keep you flipping page after page to see what happens next!

~~~~~~~~~~
Samantha Waldron and her family have set out on one of the most tedious and dangerous journeys that they could have taken on as a family.
They are doing fairly well on their own until a horrible accident occurs and they have to rely on the help of a complete stranger to save their lives before the icy river completely closes in on them.
When Samantha puts her mind to something she is one determined lady so when she decides that she is going to make a home for herself and her brother no matter that she is unattached she fully plans on making that happen. What she didn't plan on, however, was falling for the dashing Alex who saved them.
~~~~~~~~~~

Will she make her home for her brother or will things with Alex pan out in the long run?

Read it and find out for yourself!!!

Meet Melanie:

Melanie Dobson has written ten contemporary and historical novels including five releases in Summerside’s Love Finds You series. In 2011, two of her releases won Carol Awards: Love Finds You in Homestead, Iowa (for historical romance) and The Silent Order (for romantic suspense).

Melanie and her family enjoy their home in the Pacific Northwest. The entire Dobson family loves to travel and hike in both the mountains and along the cliffs above the Pacific.

When Melanie isn’t writing or playing with her family, she enjoys exploring ghost towns and dusty back roads, line dancing, and reading inspirational fiction.

The Director's Cut

This book review is for the novel "The Director's Cut" by Janice Thompson. It is the third book in the Backstage Pass series.

I really enjoyed the book but it took me a few chapters to get into it and the characters. I kept feeling like I should have read the other two first. Except for that fact, however, I really did enjoy Janice's characters and how much you can't wait to turn the next page to see what happens!

She has created very lovable characters and it was fun to see a few of them that I recognize from one of her other books.

I have never read anything by Janice that I did not enjoy.

~~~~~~~~~~
Tia Morales is good at her job, no scratch that, she is GREAT at her job. But outside the film set, she can't seem to quite get her feet underneath herself. She is used to being able to give the orders and people jumping to do them. In real life, however, it doesn't always work out this way. Take for example an over eager mother trying to set her up with a too handsome car insurance agent or brothers who are taking far longer than they should to do her home renovations. Or...her having feelings for a handsome cameraman but being unsure what to do about it. For Tia life is just seems to be easier on the screen.
~~~~~~~~~~

Like I said I really enjoy Janice's novels! They can quickly suck you into whatever world she is trying to create with her characters and not only are they interesting but they are a truly fun read. I always look forward to her books and this one is no exception. A definite recommended read!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Jenny
