This book review is for the novel "Princess Ever After" by Rachel Hauck.
It is the second book in her "The Royal Wedding Series".
I cannot even tell you how excited I was when I saw this book come up for a review opportunity.
For one, what girl never dreamed of being a princess no matter how far fetched the idea may seem???
The cover on this book alone will make you sigh in pure romantic happiness and gives you the nicest feeling.
There is something so beautifully delicious about a good Princess book!
Rachel Hauck is a master when it comes to making royalty come to life on the pages of her novel.
And fear not, my princess loving friends, you can read this book as a stand-alone! Although I do highly recommend the first one in the series as well!
Rachel is a princess genius!

Regina "Reggie" Beswick has quit her high paying job and is determined to make a go of running an auto restoration shop with her buddies.
Reggie is somewhat lost in herself without even truly realizing it. But a destiny awaits her in a faraway land that she never even dreamed was possible.
What she thought was fanciful fairy tales spun by a beloved grandmother was really clues given to her eventual call to action.
A kingdom awaits their reluctant princess with baited breath. The fate of whether this nation will be dissolved and become no more their own principality rests in Reggie's extremely reluctant, grease covered hands.
The man sent to convince her of the need for her presence as their ruler may find himself at a loss for words when he meets the enigma that is his "princess".

The Tutor's Daughter
This book review is for the novel "The Tutor's Daughter" by Julie Klassen.
I have to start out by admitting to being a super fan of Julie's books! As soon as I saw the email for this one and knew that she had a new book coming out I REALLY wanted to read it and very eagerly waited for the package containing this lovely new adventure to arrive in the mail.
Her books remind me so much of Jane Austin while definitely having her own unique spin on this lovely time period. The only annoying thing about this book is when you finish reading it and want so much more of the story or at least a new next book to dive into!
I cannot highly recommend The Tutor's Daughter enough. Even if you have never read one of Julie's books before I really believe that you will become just as a much of a fan of her work as I am almost as soon as you crack the cover!
She did such an amazing job keeping you guessing with this story line throughout almost the entire book. While reading I would find myself turning over the mystery in my mind trying to figure it the heck out.
I had many theories which all proved to be wrong but was still an excellent conclusion.
The great thing about Julie's books are how she so totally pulls you into the world that she has so lovingly crafted and you don't even realize how much you have concentrated so solely on the story until you come up for air or maybe a food break ;)

Emma Smallwood has found herself at a loss for how to deal with her father's seemingly endless sad moods since her mother passed away.
He is an excellent tutor, whom she assists, at running a boarding school for boys.
With their last pupil leaving to go on with the next level of his education they have no more students lined up to take his place and her father shows no interest in getting more students to fill the gaping holes in their lively hood.
Emma takes matters into her own hands and prevails upon herself to write a letter to the father of two of their previous students whom she happens to know has two younger sons who have never been sent to their school.
She has quite the shock when the baronet writes back inviting her father to be a tutor in residence so that his sons don't have to leave their mothers home.
Emma accompanies her father on this new quest but has no idea the mystery that shrouds the forbidden mansion that rises imposingly above the jagged cliffs or the old feeling that would be stirred for the Weston boys who did attend her fathers school.

Once again I have to highly recommend this novel and almost feel like reading it again myself!

*My Stubborn Heart* A blog tour!
This review is for the debut novel "My Stubborn Heart" by Becky Wade.
I absolutely love finding new authors to read that have tremendous talent and Becky Wade is just such an author!
I love this story because not only does it use at least two generations of family together it weaves a wonderful tale of life, death, pain, redemption and grace.
Becky brings her characters to life with poignancy. The opening of the book was quite unique and immediately peaked my interest in the story. It was almost like the beginning of a fairy tale and was sure to be a charming story I thought. I do, however, hesitate to stick with my charming thought as it almost seems too trivial of a word to use when, the wonderful author, Becky, manages to bring such depth and feeling to their lives and stories. She truly does an amazing job of weaving human characteristics into this story and gives you a glimpse into how different people deal with loss and pain while maintaining a thread of hope for something better to come for them.
~~~~~~~~~~
Kate Donovan has walked through the past months in a lackluster daze. She does her job as a social worker well but really she is only going through the motions.
A request from her grandmother, for Kate to take a three month hiatus from her 9-5 and accompany her to her old hometown of Redbud, Pennsylvania to help restore the old family home, she jumps at the opportunity to escape her doldrums.
She is tired, lonely and depressed. At 31 she was sure God had her spouse out there for her and has prayed faithfully for him since she was young but still finds herself single wondering if he will ever appear.
Then Kate meets Matt Jarreau who is the hunky carpenter her grandmother hired to help them re-do the house.
Unsure of why, but knowing with a strong fact that she feels this way, Kate senses a deep and guarded sadness to Matt. Feeling attracted but waving it away by proclaiming him to attractive for her, she instead determines to pull Matt out of his shell and befriend him. Kate and her grandmother set out to do just that very thing and feel sure that they can succeed.
Could God be finally answering Kate's long uttered prayers or is Matt just in her path so she can help him along the rode to finally healing from his traumatic past?
*The Maid Of Fairbourne Hall* Blog Tour
This book review is for the novel "The Maid of Fairbourne Hall" by Julie Klassen.
I have never made it a secret that I am a huge fan of Julie's work and I have to say she has more than done it again!
If you even remotely love Regency set novels then you will love this book! I almost liked this better than her previous book "Girl In The Gatehouse".
Julie always manages to keep you invested in her characters and anxious to find out what happens but at the same time you don't want the story to end.
Margaret Macy stands to be a very wealthy woman upon her next birthday. Her stepfather, however, has a great many plans for the fortune about to befall his step-daughter. The only thing he needs to make his plan come to fruition is for her to marry his nephew. And he plans on getting her to that by any means necessary.
Margaret is more desperate for escape from him and his evil plans than even he knows or plans for, though.
Even though her escape plan involved posing as a maid instead of a well-to-do young women, she never actually planned on having to do the grueling work of a maid. What makes her new life even more shocking is the fact that she is now a maid in the home of two former suitors. If that doesn't make her life there precarious enough, her stepfather is hunting her every step, trying to force her out into the open so he can make sure she marries his nephew before her birthday comes and she is free of him.
~~~~~~~~~~
This book is so funny is some places and so hold your breathe anxious in others that you just really have to read it for yourself to even begin to imagine how great it really is!
Julie always manages to re-create this period of time perfectly and this book is no exception!

Love for Lady of Milkweed Manor
This book review is for "Lady of Milkweed Manor" by Julie Klassen.
I am a huge fan of Jane Austin and that is what Julie Klassen's novels remind me of. Which of course means that I love them! Even in saying, however, that they remind me of Jane Austin, rest assured that Julie definitely has her own style! I cannot say enough about her work and how she pulls you into the story. I sat down to read this and ended up finishing it in one setting. You just want to keep turning the next page to find out what is going to happen.
~~~~~~~~~~
Charlotte Lamb is the daughter of a, quite proper, Vicar. She has one sister and her mother is long dead. Being a Vicar's daughter, however, does not mean that one won't fall. And Charlotte will end up paying the ultimate price for her indiscretion.
Sent away in shame, Charlotte is sentenced to while away at the dreaded Milkweed Manor. Shunned from her family and her heart lost, she comes face to face with an old potential suitor who has more than enough problems of his own.
Charlotte is inevitably faced with one of the hardest decision she can be asked to make. Painful as her life may be, will she find the good in what is left of her circumstances?
~~~~~~~~~~
The book has some amazing details of what life was like for women back in this era so you feel like you are learning something as well as enjoying a wonderfully done story! It also helps to remind us that no matter the person or circumstance, no one is immune to sin or to making a mistake.
Kudos to Julie!
Hope you all are having a fabulous week!

I am a huge Denise Hunter fan and was so excited to read this new release! I was not disappointed and will defiantly be putting this one on my shelf to read again!

~Brides of Bonneterre Trilogy~
This review is for "Brides of Bonneterre Trilogy" by Kaye Dacus.
This book contains all three novels in the series. "Stand-In Groom, Menu For Romance, A Case For Love".
I have to say that I am a huge fan of Kaye's books and I cannot wait to see if there are anymore books set in Bonneterre.
This book is over 1000 pages and it kept me highly entertained and devouring pages like a favorite piece of cheesecake!
~~~~~~~~~~
In Stand-In Groom, Anne Hawthorne is a highly successful wedding planner running her own business. Her mettle, however, is tested when she finds herself falling for the man she thinks is the groom of a wedding she is planning. What she doesn't know is that George is only a stand in groom for his very famous employer.
George is attracted to her as well and isn't quite sure how to handle the lying that he is forced to do to her.
When Anne finds out the truth about George, will she be able to forgive him and let love shine through the deceit?
Loved loved loved this book!
~~~~~~~~~~
In Menu For Romance Meredith Guidry has gotten tired of never having any privacy from her enormous family and has slowly started to pull away and try to establish a least a semblance of boundaries. She has bought an old fixer upper house, that no one approved of, and is finding solace in restoring it herself.
Having been in love with a family friend, Major, for many years but doing nothing about it has been an awful secret for Meredith. As she fights her feelings for one man, another enters her life when she least expects it. Will he just fix Meredith's broken down house or will he fix her heart too?
Major has long held feelings for Meredith but has never even so much as alluded to them as he has a huge secret that is constantly looming over him and any relationship he could ever hope to have with her.
Will Major eventually trust enough to let people in on his problems or will the contractor win Meredith in the end?
Once again LOVED!
~~~~~~~~~~~
In A Case For Love Alaine Delacroix finds herself attracted to her friend Meredith's cousin Forbes Guidry, who is a prominent attorney. He is a longtime bachelor and she herself is known as an eligible bachelorette.
Just as one thinks sparks might fly between the two, Alaine finds out that her parents and brother are about to not only lose their businesses, but their homes as well thanks to the large corporation that Forbes family owns. Alaine is determined to keep Forbes at harms length and expose, what she is sure is wrong doing on the part of the Guidry's. I mean, how can you date the man whose parents you want to expose for corruption on the evening news?!?
When no other lawyer wants to take on her case against such a prominent family, however, perhaps the one person she can turn to for help is the very person she has been trying to avoid.
I cannot say enough good things about this Trilogy. I absolutely loved it and am eagerly anticipating reading more books by Kaye! She has a way of drawing you into whatever story she is reading and before you know it you are halfway through without putting the book down! Thumbs up, Kaye!
Hope your new year gets off to a blessed start!
~Never the Bride~
This book review is for the novel "Never the Bride" by Cheryl Mckay & Rene Gutterridge.
Hold onto your hats for this review because this is truly one of the most unique and amazing books that I have EVER read!
This novel was a screenplay that was turned into a book. There will actually be a movie coming out next year for this which I am super excited to see!!
Jessie Stone has spent her life writing into hundreds of journals her dream proposal and how her dream man should be. Her purple feather pen is her lifeline for these books and you better be prepared to lose a finger if you want to so much as touch it. Her purple pen is what she writes her very dreams and hopes with. She has the very idea of what she wants in a man, the way he should propose and her dream house planned.
The only thing missing is...the man to fulfill the plan she has come up with.
The one she thought would be the ONE, cheated on her with a blonde and crushed her to bits. The only other man who she could see herself with happens to be her very best friend, Blake, who seems to be blind to what she is sure are her many many charms.
Approaching her 35th birthday and just having made ten years at her very steady job with only her pen and journals to keep her warm at night....Jessie has something happen to her that makes her question her very sanity... God shows up. In the flesh, looking like a very handsome man and requesting of her the one thing she doesn't want to give. Control.
Will she hand over her very feathery purple pen to Him, will she surrender, will she trust Him and let Him write her long awaited love story. No matter how long it takes or however crazy what is asked of her seems to be. Will she trust? Will she stop fighting, stop asking why and just trust Him. Will she obey and will she surrender?
I LOVE this book. It is so touching, so poignant and so thought provoking. God is the ultimate love story. He can make happen for any of us things so much better and so much more amazing than we can ever dream for ourselves if we trust and surrender to Him.
Please pick up a copy of this book. I think it will touch you and inspire you in ways you never thought. I think it will make you see a little bit of how I think God sees us and wants us to see Him. As our passionate love story.
Still loving this book,
Jenny
I have long read the novels of Robin Jones Gunn and they have long had an honored place on my bookcase.
I love her books! And always greet the news of a new one coming with much anticipation and excitement!
My excitement for this third book and the new fourth book in this series was no less and once again, Robin, did not disappoint.
A Lasting Impression~Tamera Alexander~Blog Tour
This book review is for the novel "A Lasting Impression" by Tamera Alexander.
This novel held special appeal for me as it is set in Nashville.
I relished it's length and could easily imagine that beauty that is Belmont.
Anyone who appreciates a colorful tale and a book that will suck you in and keep you turning pages until the very end will fall in love with this book!
Claire Laurent is an accomplished artist. Not exactly in her own right but in the style of someone else. Her father has convinced her of the need to carry on her mother's work. That of forging famous paintings which he then sales.
What Claire longs for is to be signing her own name on her own genuine work of art but she sees it as an impossible dream.
Through dire circumstances Claire finds herself employed by a woman of great means and a love for art that is seemingly almost unparalleled.
The mistress of Belmont has an attorney on staff named Sutton and Claire's greatest fear yet deepest desire is for them all to know the truth of what she was. Forger is no longer the cloak she wishes to wear but until she reveals the truth she is swaddled in the cloak of deceit.
Stunning imagery and story. Cannot recommend it enough!
Hope your weeks are all amazing and that Thanksgiving was tasty! ;)
~Surrender the Night~
This book review is for the novel "Surrender the Night" by MaryLu Tyndall. This is the second book in the Surrender To Destiny series.
Once again, MaryLu has crafted a stunningly beautiful historical novel. You really feel like you are in a vital piece of history as you read her books.
I can imagine the period pieces of clothing and the unrest that the wars must have caused among the people of our fledgling nation.
The book is set during the war of 1812 and is a brilliant follow-up to the first novel in this series, which I also previously reviewed. ~Surrender the Heart~ Be sure to check this review out as well and read all the books!
I am chomping at the bit to read the next one and are eagerly anticipating what happens next.
Miss Rose McGuire has had a hard life, especially for one that is so young. She has deeply buried scars and resentments toward anything British. And when she becomes the unwitting victim of a British Lieutenant, her life is turned upside down. Whether for the better or the worse is to be determined.
What brings the enemy to her doorstep is also what might help open her eyes to the unforgiveness that she harbours. And possibly shed some light into her somewhat darkened soul. She believes in God but she lives in fear. The things that have tainted her past have continued to color her future.
From tragedy, to intrigue, to danger, lies, tested faith, blackmail, unwanted suitors and just perhaps a budding romance, Surrender the Night takes you on an amazing ride of fiction. I highly recommend it!
Pick up a copy and have a happy, enjoyable weekend!
