The Daughter of Highland Hall

This book review is for the novel "The Daughter of Highland Hall" by Carrie Turansky. It is the second book in the Edwardian Brides series.

So if you have been following my blog and book post even a tiny bit you should know by now that I really love historical fiction. This book fits nicely into that love for me.

I enjoyed it so much that I started looking for another book by Carrie to read next.

She is so descriptive in her writing that the struggle her characters go through really resonate throughout the book and help them seem like real people and not just beautiful fragments of our authors imagination.

**********
Katherine Ramsey is about to come out in society. The pressure is on to find a wealthy handsome husband and secure her future. Her home has been passed to an older male cousin since women are not allowed to inherit and unless she marries she is destined to remain under her relatives thumb.

However, one thing after another seems to be at play to keep Katherine from making a successfully splash of a debut. A handsome man who is not the ideal candidate for a suitable mate, an overbearing Aunt who is controlling her every move and a family scandal that could rip apart not only Katherine's reputation but that of her entire family.

Check it out for yourself and prepare to settle in for a nice read!
