Reluctant Courtship blog tour But Not a Reluctant Read!

This book review is for the novel "A Reluctant Courtship" by Laurie Alice Eakes.
It is the third book in the The Daughters of Bainbridge House series.

You know that a novel is good and a writer is great when they can make you really feel for the characters you are reading about. Laurie more than does this in her books and her writing is imaginative and phenomenal. I am such a fan of historical fiction like this, especially the ones that remind me of Jane Austen and this does a great job in this genre.

As I immersed myself in the emotional pool of Honore Bainbridges life, in her virtual exile in the country, I really felt for her. I found myself getting annoyed with her brother on her behalf and thinking how unjust the whole thing was and trying to figure out the mystery surrounding this storyline.
Like I said you know a good writer when... :)

I am hopeful there will be more books in this series because I love them!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Honore Bainbridge has two scandalous relationships in her past. Relationships that have tainted her in the eyes of "polite" society and the rest of her family has brushed her away to their county seat.
When Honore finds herself in a most precarious position she also finds herself rescued by the most unlikely of hero's and becomes in tangled in a mystery that might be more scandalous to her or his reputation than either of the other two.
I really love this series and I think you will too especially if you love historical fiction!
The Journey Of Josephine Cain *A Blog Tour*
This book review is for the novel "The Journey of Josephine Cain" by Nancy Moser.
I don't believe that I have ever read anything by Nancy before but I did enjoy this book.
I really enjoy historical novels and always love to discover a new good author who frequents this genre.
This book really takes you back into the post Civil war era and does a good job of helping you imagine what life must have been back in that period of America's history while still incorporating a fair amount of romance!
**********
Josephine Cain is the well-to-daughter of an important General.
Wild west places are no sort of area for the genteel and the fairer sex.
However, Josephine has a mind of her own and has determined that she will
visit the frontier and she will visit her father as he supervises construction of the railroad.
What she failed to realize is the danger that day to day life in this land can bring and Josephine
faces far more than she ever bargained for when she steps foot in this untamed wilderness that paces for civilization. It certainly is not the type of civilization that she was raised to be in.
There just might be a purpose for her craving for the West though and Josephine just might find that out.
Glittering Promises Delivers
This book review is for the novel "Glittering Promises" by Lisa T. Bergren
This book is Book 3 in "The Grand Tour Series."
I love how Lisa's writing really paints a picture for you of where her characters are. Not only in their destination but also in their lives. She has a very good style of pulling you into the characters thoughts and emotions and really getting you into their heads which helps connect you to the story and keep you invested in the outcome. You can be pretty confident in picking up this series that it is going to be a good read :)
**********
For Cora the Grand Tour is more than she ever even expected it to be. While setting out she knew it would be the trip of a lifetime and something she would always tell stories about but she never expected it to turn out to be as life-changing as it has for her.
It isn't enough that she has found the family she never knew existed or that she might possibly be in love for life...NO you have to throw in would be kidnappers and journalist who are enthralled with the pursuit of this newest heiress.
Cora will face the toughest battle of her life when all sides seem to collide and she isn't sure which path she should be on or which path she wants to be on.
The road less traveled can be quite the adventure but sometimes the heart longs for the tried and true.
**********
The one thing I would advise with this book is to make sure that you have read the first two before picking this one up so you can continue along on Cora's exciting adventure!!
The Courier of Caswell Hall
This book review is for the novel "The Courier of Caswell Hall" by Melanie Dobson.
This is wonderful historical novel set during the American Revolution.
Melanie's writing really pulls you into this important period in our history during her story.
You can almost imagine being in the stunning plantations and walking the creaking halls of the magnificent old houses that once stood so proudly despite the scars and stories that were hidden behind their walls.
~~~~~~~~~~
You have two women who are the best of friends but oh so different in the fight for freedom.

Lydia Caswell is a member of a serious Loyalist family who fall on the Kings side of things and then you have the sister of her fiancé and her very best friend, Sarah Hammond.

Lydia is desperate for peace. That is all she wants. For her fiancé to come home and make things right with her father and for things to be back to normal. Except her fiancé is for freedom while her father is for King and she fears that nothing will be quite the same ever again.

One restless night for Lydia will change the direction of her life forever.
The wounded man she courageously saves despite not knowing where his affiliation lies surprisingly survives the night. Nathan is disorientated when he awakens and in serious pain but he has been granted a second chance to deliver the imperative message that he carried before his injury.

Nathan introduces Lydia the Patriot side of things and hopes to sway her loyalties.

Neither like the fact that loved ones have been so divided by the war that is raging but both realize a side must be chosen once and for all and a stand must be made no matter which side you come down on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I really enjoyed reading about this time in history and really liked Lydia's character.
Lydia and Sarah's story lines kept me turning the pages and I think you will like it as well!
